I walked with a friend today who made note about noisy birds – she used the hackneyed term “cacophony” of birds.

Some poets love simple commonalities, some economy, and some baroque rarity. I like simplicities but something where a device is formed.

“A strike of birds” – she’ll probably hate it but along with this poetic roll is its extension. Strike in my first path is the strike from a game of boules or nine/ten pin bowling. For one, the sound is very bird like. Two, birds can fall away or remain. Three, it leads to another sound metaphor of the industrial strike protest, and four, that the pins in the bowls games are also known as skittles and a skit is a type of acting vocal performance which lends much to the parliament of fowls and that poetry can be gamey at times.

Strike- hmm, they speak of “bird strike” when birds get sucked into jet engines. There was a segment in Catalyst last week about it. It's sort of violent and catastrophic sometimes; at others merely rather gory on the pilots windows!
